Topic: Is Scorsese/DiCaprio the new Scorsese/De Niro? Forum: JoBlo

I think the Aviator is some of the best work Scorsese has done in his whole career. It was a fantastic biography about Howard Hughes. It's also my favorite performance by DiCaprio. On that note, I still don't think their partnership could ever topple Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino... I mean, those films are what defined Scorsese as one of the best directors. But I still enjoy their collaboration and I'm grateful Scorsese has found somebody he loves working with again. They will help bring out the best in each other. It's just like with John Carpenter and Kurt Russell. The greatest collaboration brought to screen.
