Lucio Fulci's Zombie, despite some poor acting/dubbing and a number of plot holes, has always been one of my favorite zombie movies. The gore is extremely graphic at times (the splinter in the eye gets me every time), the zombies are the best-looking of any film, period, and the last shot of the zombies invading NY city was just perfect. I remember seeing the zombie vs. shark fight for the first time and being like WTF??? (in a good way of course) Definetly an original idea... The buildup to the island/zombie appearances was a bit slow but I didn't mind and the score didn't match the scenes at times (although I love the drumbeat theme.) Zombie isn't an intelligent horror movie but it's fun and does what it sets out to do; disgust and delight. One of Fulci's best.
