Hell, half the time the shit in most scripts comes from the studios themselves thinking they can write better than the writers. If the script quality is in the eye of the beholder and even if 10 studios thought it was shit and didn't want nothing to do with it, at least one looked at it and said "Why not?" and took a shot. That in and of itself, like I said, is more than most directors/writers can say. Not to mention the movie DID make money andis fairly successful already. So from a business stand point- He still sells. Sure, 30mil opening weekend for a 60mil project may seem like bad mojo. But if you do the math and look at history, it's most likely to at least break even on it's theater run and then make lots of cash on the DVD sales. The guy ain't going nowhere any time soon. |
