Night Shyamalan Is Done Forum: JoBlo | | studios pass on movies all the time... as do TV shows... if i remember correctly, The Sopranos was originally pitched to NBC who passed on it, so they went to HBO, and now Sopranos is one of TV's all time greatest shows and will live forever. So the fact that studios passed on The Happening, really, Means Jack Shit, as that is standard practice in Hollywood I guaran-fucking-tee that those studios are kicking themselves after The Happening... an R rated film opening against one of the biggest summer blockbusters of the year, pulled in over 30 million dollars you have to realize, your argument has been torn to shreds by all of us! It holds no weight... M. Night's career is FAR from over, his films suffer from the simple fact that his first 3 movies are Almost classics Richard Roeper had a great thing to say on this past weeks show, he said if you throw any other directors name on The Happening, it would be getting MUCH better reviews... and i agree... people take a comparison route in seeing his flicks rather than experiencing the flicks as themselves! |
