But I can also understand Eastwood's as well since it is about the men who raised the flag, and the famous photograph. If there weren't any African Americans raising the flag, there weren't any raising the flag. BUT . . . Letters from Iwo Jima is about the Japanese effort in the war so the lack of African Americans in that movie makes absolute sense. I dont' think there were that many caucasians in the movie either. So Spike Lee is talking out of his ass about this movie. Why can't we all just get along. |
