It's no use 'ignoring' the bad reviews this time. I've been a massive Shyamalan fan (and I still I am I guess, despite this mess of a film) and have often found myself 'defending' the films he makes. But there's nothing to defend in The Happening, and I hate to say it. It was the first time I've had a "fanboy breakup" if that makes any sense? haha. I've always loved his work but there was no way I could see anything redeemable in this movie. It was like Night was slapping me around a little too much, so I finally had to pack my things and stay at my sisters place. Jokes aside, it was really disappointing to see a filmmaker I look up to churn out such a lazy piece of film making. I'm not one of those guys who just attacks Shyamalan for no reason, so to all of the defenders, please wait until you've seen the film to make your case. I already know a lot of Night fans who have admitted that this wasn't anything special.
