Topic: why are some blu-rays...... Forum: JoBlo

I notice this too... and it really really pissed me off when I saw that Blade Runner: Final Cut doesn't really look all that great on Blu-Ray. I had a couple theories; older movies look like shit, the original print of the movie is in poor shape, or the transfer to Blu-ray was poorly done... I really don't know why but some movies do suck while others are perfect. I'm surprised you said The Shining was great because that disproves my older movie theory. But the same can be said with up-converted DVDs... some look like they're HD and others look like they came from youtube.
