Clint isn't saying that African American soldiers didn't help during WWII, he's saying they weren't in the group of soldiers that he focused on in the story. Could he have worked in a sub-plot with African American soldiers? Sure, I mean some critics already think the movie was overblown and etc, but we have to please everyone nowadays. Let's even forget the fact that one of the main characters is Native American. Clint proved Lee wrong, and Lee is doing the classic "Well, I made a immature remark earlier, so I'm going to sound more mature and condescending after I've been proven wrong." You can't (shouldn't, people have done it for the sake of film) change history. Eastwood stuck to history, and Lee is taking a cheap shot. |
