I have no idea why so many of you are wasting your time bitching about this movie and the people who like it. Personally I thought it was a 2.5 hour advertisement for hideous, over-priced clothing. Hooray for materialism! The truth is that there are fully realized relationships displayed here as well, some more than others. By saying that every fan watches it because of the fashion or to project that image on themselves is ridiculous. Some people simply care about the characters even with all their idiosyncracies and insecurities. I thought it was bloated, but the Steve/Miranda subplot was worth the price of admission. Dave Eigenberg did a phenomenal job. The scene on the bridge was really excellent...I won't give it away, but he was subtle but effective - something I find to be missing from the show most of the time. But yes, electriclite, you hit the nail on the head. Thank you for taking your time to write that out. |
