But Im afraid the devil beats god in appearances. I started to get curious about this because I suddenly realized...God really doesnt appear in that many films! Are people more fascinated by the devil then by god? And why do we often times get to see Satan in movies...but God is somehow never really shown. Its almost as if he was too holy to be shown or something? I dont know. Please, make a list of movies in which God appears. And Satan as well. What is your favorite represention of either in a film? Heres a couple of films from the top of my head: F.W. Murnaus Faust. The Devil appears. God doesnt, only an angel represents god here. Bill and Teds Bogus Journey - The bodacious duo appear before the creator, but we only see a glimmer of light, we never really get to see "him". Once again, we do get to see The Devil himself, but we dont get to see God. Bruce Almighty and its sequel Evan Almighty are one of the few movies in which god is actually personafied. The Devils Advocate - ONce again, the devils makes a standout performance..yet god is nowhere to be seen! |
