| You know what part always has me a little curious. The scene where H.W. sets the room on fire. We first see H.W. reading the diary (upside down I might add), then he sees a photo, almost immediately after he sets the fire. Now, we know H.W. is an orphan, has not had any education. Is it safe to assume he can't read? He only gets his formal education after Plainview sends him away. So does H.W. set the fire out of jealousy - OR - does he see/read something in the diary that proves Henry is a fraud. |
