I'll admit it... I'm now 100% sure who my final vote in the "favorite" category was but I'm 99% sure I voted for "300." 1) I didn't see TWBB just yet. Was going today but I'm sick and don't want to hack and cough through the film. 2) I HATED and I do mean HATED NCFOM. 3) "Favorite" is a very specific term. To me, "favorite" implies rewatchability. There are many fantastic movies that I would agree are cinematic masterpieces but often those aren't films I'd watch a 2nd time, let alone a third or fourth time. "300" is a movie I want to own on DVD so I *can* watch it again now and then. One thing I will comment on though. I come here this time of year more than any other time because of the Golden Schmoes. It's a fun thing to do. I don't agree with everything but hey, that's the whole point - if we all agreed then we'd have a very narrow choice at the movie theater now wouldn't we? OK I lied - another comment (not just one) is that in the nomination process I noticed some people nominating things that I was surprised even fit into certain categories. But anyway, we all know (because we all watch the Oscars) that nobody is ever going to 100% agree on ANY awards. Be glad you all have a place to debate this kind of stuff. Isn't the debate (aka bitching) half the fun of talking about movies anyway?
