Sometimes it is my favourite movie, because I love the story or the strength I can feel in a story or it is the most beautiful landscape (usually combined with something else positive in the movie), so moving, that it has touched me more then the 'perfectly' done XY movie. The perfectly done might have impressed me because of the quality, but still not touch 'my soul'. Other example: The Sci-Fi that made me understand the genre as interesting (coming of a cultural snootily family I had till then no clue) is one of my favourites. Also not one of the best ones. So again: where is the problem? Leaving in the big hope, that the Golden Schmoes will never resemble the Oscars too much, I do not think highly about the Oscars.
