I'm just shaking my head in disbelief that someone could keep up enthusiasm making this film. These are my opinions. Other's obviously feel differently when I say things like, where's the substance. Sorry dudes, I just think Wachowski movies are as shallow as the kiddie pool, and Speed Racer has had years to get my attention in one form or another, but failed. It just doesn't add up in my mind. Cheers to what looks like a 100 million dollars down the crapper. There's a talking monkey I think Speed Racer can just simply be a fun summer film (with the Wachowski's name plugged to it or not.) Just because it's a family film based on a cartoon doesn't mean it can't kick ass. The visuals do look great but I haven't seen a film in a while with good family/moral values (mixed with sweet kung-fu ninja movies) This is a film that is recommended to watch with an open mind and take it for what it is; don't look for Oscar-worthy performances, an insanely original script or the best film you'll see all year... just see it to be entertained. Now until you see the movie don't claim it's a waste of money. |
