Is each iteration of the idea a rip-off of the previous one? Other than 'Sherlock, Jr.', which I've already mentioned being a dream of entering a movie, what other old ones do you have in mind? First, that counts. Second, books and plays count. And third, the variations of something not alive coming to life are large. Examples can be as old as _Pygmalian_ (The original) or variations such as _Night Life of the Gods_. And the idea of cartoon characters entering the real world, and vice versa. It's a stretch to see it's a RIP-OFF. If anything, it's a variation on a theme. --
