Quality of the MOVIE/TV SHOW ITSELF is what matters to me. My movies are all showing their spines anyways. I have tons of box sets and special collector's boxes (Blade Runner (2 versions), stuff like that) but it also has to do with the fact that the DVDs themselves are kickass.
I would rather save a couple bucks and get the exact same thing than worry about the packaging. well it's not like it's just the packaging around a single disc version with bare bones extras... the steelbook version dvds are the special editions (uncut and extended versions if applicable) of these movies... it's exactly the same as if one were buying a 2-disc edition of a movie you like... i can see if someone were to just buy steelbooks, even of movies that are not good, just to have a steelbook, but for most of us, we get the steelbooks of the movies we like...
