I enjoyed Bringing out the Dead more because it is kind of offbeat for Scorcese. The film is fast paced, manic, and a non stop rollercoaster ride. Not to mention that its incredibly well acted with some genuinly funny moments. I put in the same category as the insanely entertaining Cape Fear, because its extremely stylized and a bit different then what we see Scorcese do. He takes his genius in other directions, where The Departed felt a bit redundant (to me at least) with the whole Gangster thing...again. |
