| I don't even go to the movies anymore. I'm a DVD only fan now. My local movie house (there is only 1, it is a mega theater that crushed 4 others) wants $11 to get in, and $4 for a drink (two can worth) and $4 for a decent size popcorn and so on. Then I get in and have no rewind, volume control, pause and have to stay sitting upright the whole time. Add this to the other people talking, laughing, chatting on phones, phones ringing, caughing, sneezing, blowing noses, children making racket.....No. For the cost of a movie trip I can get the DVD a few months later. And watch it how ever many times I want, not just the once. I can lay prone on my couch or bed, volume control, snacks that cost less than a fortune, can pause for phone, bathroom, smoking, sleepy, anything. No crowds and all that entails. In short, the perfect viewing experience. The movie houses are simply not 'it' for me anymore. |
