Topic: Sweeney Todd - Discuss It Forum: Film Hobbit

I thought Sweeney Todd was nothing short of amazing, and also a great milestone in Burton's career as a director. Sure, it has familiar Burton elements, but for him to make a not only a great musical, but the goriest film he's ever made, is great. And I'm not even a fan of musicals generally. You could tell Burton always had it in him to really go beyond what he's already accomplished as far as gore and the "macabre" is concerned but Todd compared to Sleepy Hollow (his goriest til now) is like comparing apples and oranges in that gore realm. It seems like kiddie films for adults compared to this masterwork. I loved it.
