Off topic, but did anyone else have a wild trailer before their screening. It's touted as a J. J. Abrams project, but I can't find anything on it. Maybe I've had my head in the sand on this one, but it caught me totally off guard. It's great as a trailer. Left you with no clue what was going on but wanting to see more. Basically it's this NY going away party for some guy that everyone seems to love. The perspective is from a hand held camera, sort of a Blair Witch thing, where you're watching unedited footage from the camera. It goes on and off and people say different things to this guy as he's leaving. Suddenly there's an earthquake and everyone begins freaking out. The camera is taken to the roof where you see an explosion in the distance with another earthquake, followed by some sort of monster-ish roar. Fire balls from the explosion arc upward and out sending people running. The camera is taken down to the street level next. Street is filled with panicked people. Suddenly the head of the Statue of Liberty comes flying from out of nowhere followed by more roaring. End of trailer. Anyone have a clue what this is? All I can find it that it's some secret project that Abrams is producing titled Cloverfield.
