Topic: Your Least Favourite/Favourite Moments of Movie CGI Forum: Film Hobbit
What are your favourite and least favourite moments of CGI in movies? The moments that you went "Holy ****ing shit that was amazing!?!" or the moments that you went "Holy ****ing shit how the hell are we supposed to think that piece of shit effect was real!?!" I think my favourite moments are probably mostly from Lord of the Rings. Gollum being completely CG was huge for me. Also the scale they pulled off with it. Star Wars Episode 3, as much as I hate a lot of it, and as much as I know those effects will probably looks like absolute shit to us in a few years, that opening sequence fight was spectacular to watch. As for least favourite, well I Am Legend did a pretty god damned awful job. Especially, as Josh pointed out in his article, the CG deer (). Also, a l;ot of the CGI in The Matrix sequels was shitty as hell. Like the CG version of Keanu Reeves that they were bragging about *shudder* all I could think about while watching that was "who the **** do they think they're kidding?" The sharks in Deep Blue Sea are also worthy mention of shitty effects, especially the one that eats Samuel L Jackson.
