Topic: SUPERMAN RETURNS- post when you see it! Forum: Film Hobbit

I rated it no better than alright, and not a patch on the Spiderman movies or Batman Begins. I'm surprised people haven't picked up on the Christian theme more - from when he landed on the island it was basically an allegory for the crucifiction story. Anyway, similarities that I picked up on: The demigod sent by his father to bring light to mankind and be the saviour. Raised by human parents. The retreat into the wilderness (or outer space). Beaten by the guards. Stabbed in the side. Carries the problems of the world. Dies and falls back to earth in a crucifix position. Rises again. Empty bed is discovered = empty tomb.
