No notable actors and most of the alien and/or predator scenes were done in the dark (probably to hide the low budget). Might have been more interesting for the one lone predator to summon help and have an all out war with the aliens. Might have been interesting to have the predator team up with the humans again (although most people would probably see that as a re-hash of AVP). They did set up a AVP3 at the end though. This one did have more gore, but I think AVP was fleshed out a bit more storyline wise. I rewatched Predator, Predator 2 and AVP prior to watching AVP-R now I'm in the process or rewatching the Alien films. I noticed something I hadn't before that ties the series together. During Alien they mention they are trying to contact the Antarctica station and during Alien and Aliens there are numerous references to going to that planet under company orders. Initially I always assumed the first contact was the beacon they homed in on and those were the orders referred to. But I think they could easily rework it to say the company always knew or at least suspected something on was LV486 without contradicting continuity. Not that there aren't other more problematic continuity problems... The worst one is the accelerated alien life cycle. This new film picks up right where the last one left off with the predator-alien chestburster being born. The predator ship is leaving earth's orbit when the chestburster emerges and it seems like the ting is already full-grown before the ship even clears the planet. Worse than the accelerated life cycle was doing away with the face hugger and having an Alien impregate someone. Yeah, I didn't like that much, either, but at least that can explained away as a variation in biology due to either the combination of the alien and predator DNA or the lack of a queen present to lay eggs. There was no queen on the Nostromo, and no new eggs. -- Living your life: 'Killing time until time kills you.'
