Or most other "things that go bump in the night" movies, which is what the Alien film series basically is. I don't recall the Predator films clearly enough to recall whether the "uncloaked" predator scenes were brightly lit or not. In the first film, wasn't the predator cloaked all the time until towards then end? I think the first AvP film was OK in a "switch brain off" sort of way (which is the way most Hollywood action films need to be viewed, after all). And it was certainly better than A:R (nothing like damning something with faint praise!). I can't say I'm *looking forward* to AvP:R, but I'll probably catch it when it comes out here (mid Jan). Not on opening day, though. -- Adam
