I'm against putting people in prison (and then having them listed on sexual offender lists) for having CONSENSUAL sex with a knowledgeable person, regardless of their age. If they've reached puberty and are thinking about sex, they're responsible for their actions. I mean, if a thirteen or fourteen year old steals, you lock them up in juvenile halls, right? Why are we punishing minors at all with the law if they're not capable of making rational decisions? In Polanski's case, these people were having a party. I remember some pretty slutty (and I hate to use that word "slutty," because it sounds judgmental, and I'm not being that) 13- and 14-year-olds, so it's more than possible that a girl can consent to sex, and be not only consensual, but ENTHUSIASTIC. --
