What's so spectacular about it? I can understand that. I did not "get" Princess Mononoke on my first viewing. Same with Seven Samurai, 2001, The Thin Red Line, and others. Watch Castle in the Sky, or Mononoke. See if that stirs something in you. Then go back to Spirited Away.
