Pros (I'll give this a shot) - John Stewart. Funny man. - Once winning Best Original Song and then Stewart inviting Irglova back on stage to finish her speech. - Ellen Page. - Daniel Day Lewis winning. - There Will Be Blood winning Cinematography (though I haven't seen Jesse James and it looks beautiful) - Swinton winning. Great surprise. Rooting for Ryan and Ronan, haven't seen Blanchett and I think Ruby Dee was completely undeserving. Short screen time and over the top, IMO. - Ellen Page. - Juno winning Best Original Screenplay. I've read the actual screenplay and it's very well written. Completely entertaining, clever, etc. Michael Clayton was a INCREDIBLY smart movie though, and if that won I wouldn't have complained. (Okay, maybe a little) Cons - - Slightly Page losing Actress. I haven't seen ANY of the other nominees, so I can't judge but I just hoped. - No Country winning. It's definitely an instant classic, but on a repeated viewing I found it a BIT dull during some scenes and didn't completely hold up. I wanted a upset also to spice up the evening, adding in the fact I liked Juno, TWBB and Atonement more. (Tied with Michael Clayton) - The Enchanted songs got a bit boring. - The speeches were too short! I know they shouldn't be 10 minutes each but it's their big moment! - Who won the honorary award again? I have no real opinion on the Coens though they seemed nervous that doesn't make them assholes.
