Which makes sense, as the entire game was originally based around Kaneshiro’s persona and character, and the Japanese star even voiced the character, not to mention allowing them to use his face. For those unfamiliar with Kaneshiro (why aren’t you, by the way?), he’s a major star in Asia, not just Japan, and his past credits include “House of Flying Daggers” and John Woo’s upcoming “The Battle of Red Cliff”. Kaneshiro is a proven leading man in Asia, but the real question is: Will the producers allow Gans to cast Kaneshiro in a $70 million dollar International movie? That’s a lot of money to trust to an actor who most of the world has never heard of… |
